Roskomnadzor (the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media) has shut down the activities of the website basegai.ru, which was illegally distributing the personal date of Russian citizens.

Experts from Roskomnadzor identified a further four Internet resources from where it is possible to obtain personal information about Russian citizens.

The identities of the website owners are currently being established, and once that is done a decision will be taken on whether to close down the site, the department's press service explained to eLiberator
