Medvedev demands reduction in costs for connecting to the Internet

Following a meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Presidential Council for Economic Modernisation and Innovative Development, Dmitry Medvedev issued a number of directives to the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media, the Finance Ministry and the Economic Development Ministry. 

The Prime Minister demanded that legal, organisational and financial measures be developed aimed at "significantly reducing the cost of connecting" to the Internet in Russia.

This is a matter of applying innovative broadband technologies that provide increased bandwidth, eLiberator cites the Russian Government website.
